MM Kotkamills is a forest products company located in Kotka, Finland producing whitewood sawn goods, saturating base kraft paper, impregnated products such as surface films for wooden panels and core stock for laminate production, and folding boxboard and food service board. MM Kotkamills is a part of MM Group. In 2020, the group generated sales of around EUR 2.5 billion and employed approx. 10,000 people.
New corporate identity for the web service
Mediasignal implemented MM Kotkamills’ new web service for WordPress. The visual image of MM Kotkamills’ corporate identity was transformed into a web service aimed at global companies interested in plastic replacement materials. The technical implementation of the website focused on presenting the vision of MM Kotkamills, making it easy to find product information and ensuring accessibility. The site tells the unique story of MM Kotkamills.
MM Kotkamills develops internal communication through Signea Intranet
MM Kotkamills, a manufacturer of wood-based materials replacing plastic, has decided to revamp its outdated SharePoint-based intranet solution. The problems with the old intranet were, among other things, difficulty to update, to discover information and a confusing structure. MM Kotkamills explored various options for implementing the new intranet and ended up with a bundled Signea Intranet+ solution.
Signea Intranet responded to MM Kotkamills’ requirements for its technical platform, ready-made functionality and implementation project. The implementation project took into account the needs of the different departments and ensured that the production staff also had access to the information on the intranet. No more personal user licenses were needed, as during SharePoint.
MM Kotkamills’ intranet connects employees working in a large production facility. Job satisfaction is expected to improve when all employees are informed. Productivity is further enhanced as all employees access digital internal communications and share their expertise across the organization.
