Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd
Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd is a non-profit service company owned by the Finnish Confederations of Industry and Commerce, to which importers of packaged products and companies packaging in Finland report annually on the use of their packaging materials. Around 5,000 companies have joined the system.
Aiming for a website that is search engine friendly and easy to develop
Mediasignal and Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd have been working together since 2019. The cooperation has been active and has included the implementation, introduction and maintenance of the reporting system.
In connection with the rebranding, the website was also renewed. The redesign included a new look and feel, a website in three languages, integrations, dynamic forms, a comprehensive map functionality and a company listing directory. Mediasignal was responsible for the technical implementation of the site and the project execution.
The ecopoint map is the most popular functionality of the service and covers all of Rinki’s ecopoints (1800) on a map with information. Our aim was to optimise both the user experience and the expense structure of the ecopoint map. The ecopoint data is imported into the online service through integration with the customer’s backend system. In addition to the location of the ecopoints, the map shows the status of the previous and next emptying days and provides a reporting option for the ecopoint users.
The company listing directory provides a structured list of companies registered under the producer responsibility (around 5000 companies). Companies can be searched or filtered according to defined criteria. The information on the companies is integrated into the online service from the customer’s system.
The dynamic forms were implemented using selected plug-ins and also include a two-way integration with Vingo. The content of the forms is automatically updated according to the choices made, using the integration implemented.
With the web service redesign, Rinki received a completely redesigned and search engine friendly website, which is in line with Rinki’s brand image and values, as well as easy to develop and use in terms of functionality.
