Polarputki Oy
Polarputki sells steel products and services to the Finnish engineering and shipbuilding industry.
Polarputki was looking for a browser-based application that would centrally manage the communication related to requests for quotations from suppliers. The application was to be integrated into the ERP so that the requests for quotations could be retrieved from the ERP with the preliminary data for further processing in the application.
We designed and implemented a customised web application for Polarputki Oy, which allows the easy sending of quotation requests, tracking of responses and management of recipient lists from a single, central location.
The application integrates with the ERP system, automatically retrieving draft requests created there. Once retrieved from the ERP, the request can be forwarded via the application to the desired suppliers. Responses to quotation requests are also automatically collected in the application via email integration. The application stores old requests for quotations and provides search filter functions to filter the archive.
The result was exactly what was asked for and additional needs that came along the way were added to the implementation in a very handy way, says Joona Nykänen from Polarputki.
High-quality results with agile methods
The app is a great example of how the latest tools in the industry can deliver a high-quality result quickly and cost-effectively. The service is built entirely in Typescript using the modern Next.js application framework. The technology is complemented by Microsoft AD & Graph integration, which is used to implement the authentication and email traffic of the service. In addition, the implementation allows for easy maintenance and straightforward further development in the future.
The agile development work was completed in approximately 1.5 months. Our collaboration approach was praised by Polarputki: “The collaboration was seamless and tailored to our needs. Mediasignal has strong professionals”, sums up Joona Nykänen.
Points of the service:
– Integration with Microsoft Business Central
– Typescript-based front-end & back-end implementation with Next.js
– Utilizing Prisma ORM for an agile implementation of the data model
– Azure AD authentication for seamless O365 login
