Automatically Generated Sales Guides and Data Sheets from Product Data

One of our recent PIM projects was a collaboration with listed company Kesla. The goal was to build a solution that enables the automatic generation of sales guides and technical datasheets based on product data—particularly for Kesla’s timber harvesting product lines, known for their modularity, complexity, and volume.

We were excited to take on the challenge and create a customized PIM solution tailored to Kesla’s specific needs. For this project, we used Akeneo PIM as the core platform for product data management and enrichment.

Always Up-to-Date and Consistent Product Information

Close collaboration with Kesla throughout the project ensured the solution met their expectations.

“The cooperation has gone very smoothly. We didn’t need to know how to build the system ourselves—Mediasignal’s experts walked us through the product structures and data sources and built the right product data architecture based on our input,”

The outcome was exactly what Kesla was looking for.

“We’ve already started using the PIM-generated datasheets and sales materials, and the experience has been entirely positive,” Tirkkonen adds.

Mediasignal’s approach to PIM is to define everything clearly during the early phases of the project, ensuring that once the system is implemented, data distribution to publishing channels happens smoothly and aligns with the customer’s business goals.

Tirkkonen also praised Mediasignal’s ability to solve complex problems:

Initially, we hesitated because we thought we’d need to build the system ourselves, but our actual role was simply to serve as a data source for Mediasignal’s professionals.”

Scaling PIM Use Across Kesla

Kesla’s product experience development doesn’t end here. The system will be expanded to other business units.

“We started with a pilot for one product group and aim to continue with additional groups later this year. After that, we’ll be able to leverage the PIM system across multiple channels—from our website to sales tools,” Tirkkonen explains.
