Goal: Agile and User-Friendly Price List Generation
Vallox set out to solve recurring challenges in creating sales materials. With a broad product portfolio, multiple language versions, and varying market requirements, the amount of data to manage was enormous. The scale of the information increased the risk of human error and slowed down workflows. Vallox wanted to streamline the management of its product catalogs and integrate catalog generation directly into the digital product data stream.
The goal was to build an agile, web-based tool that automatically produces price lists and catalogs from real-time product information—without manual layout work.
Mediasignal Delivered a Configurable Catalog Generator
Mediasignal developed a configurable Catalog Generator for Vallox, leveraging data directly from the Akeneo Product Information Management (PIM) system. Product information—such as names, technical details, variants, and accessories—is automatically fetched from Akeneo and combined with a price catalog that follows Vallox’s brand guidelines.

The configuration view makes it easy to select what should be included in the catalog—for example, the language, target market, product selection, and images. For a more compact price list, additional images can be excluded, while for audiences requiring more detail, a version with measurement and installation drawings can be created. Flexibility is further increased by the ability to add pre-designed appendix pages as well as customized front and back covers.
This allows the price list to include delivery terms conveniently, while product catalogs can highlight the contact persons for further inquiries.
Once the selections are made, the system automatically compiles a complete price catalog containing product-specific information, pricing, and variant/accessory listings. The final PDF is then automatically uploaded to Cloudinary and published across chosen channels.
